Course Description
Teacher in Charge: James Hart.
This course is very focused on real life issues, problem solving and the development of a range of skills and knowledge that will provide students with a wide range of employment opportunities. There are two external assessments: Natural Processes and how they interact to shape the environment which is investigated primarily through coastal landforms at Muriwai; and the Cultural Process standard which investigates the impact of Tourism Development in Rotorua. The internal assessments include fieldwork and research of coastal processes at Muriwai; a contemporary issue of your choice; and the Global pattern of Coral Reefs. There are field trips to Rotorua and Muriwai to supplement the learning.

Only students engaged in learning and achievement derived from Te Marautanga o Aotearoa are eligible to be awarded these subjects as part of the requirement for 14 credits in each of three subjects.
