Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Robyn Hunn.
This course focuses on gaining practical skills useful in finding a part-time job or starting a career in the Hospitality industry. Students will learn how to prevent food contamination and food poisoning to safely prepare food for cafes and restaurants. Students will then apply the cookery and food safety skills they have learned to create a sweet or savoury dish to sell at a school even such as the Carmel Street Food Market. During the year, students will also step up their Barista skills by learning to provide a quick and efficient service to customers, and explain the difference between coffee bean roasts, blends, including decaffeinated, fair trade and organic.
