Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Nigel Bassett.
This course provides students with an introduction to the tourism industry. It recognises the knowledge and skills required as a base for further training in the tourism industry. The topics covered include: tourist characteristics; social impacts of tourism; world tourism; New Zealand as a tourist destination; history of tourism. This course is 100% internally assessed.
Tourism can be studied for just Level 2.

Level 1 English and/or Level 1 Mathematics recommended, or at the discretion of the Head of Department for Tourism
